Much Ado About Nothing
This project involved creating a theatre programme for Shakespeare's play Much Ado About Nothing. The booklet folds out into an A2 promotional poster and its design incorporates several themes explored in the play. It demonstrates the on going battle of the sexes and the fickle nature of couples' courting rituals. The ropes constraining the figures are suggestive of the characters' refusal to be tamed by marriage and of the unnecessary tension or fuss created in throughout. The colours used are modern and vibrant, giving the design a contemporary feel while also suggesting that love is as fickle today as in the sixteenth century.
